The Ngorongoro Crater is a large volcanic caldera which plays host to an advanced ecosystem perfect for the inhabiting and preservation of a wide variety of animals, from the aptly named king of the jungle, the lion, to the ever so rarer horned beast, the rhino. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area itself has a land area size of around 8,292 Km2, of which Crater floor itself stands about 304 km2 and the height of up to 610 meters from the top to the bottom and was originally established as a Conservation Area in 1959. In 1979, the Conservation Area received the honoring title of a World Heritage Site, to ensure that the unique and specialness of the Ngorongoro remains protected and preserved for generation to generation.
The Ngorongoro Crater really is an amazing place to visit and to witness its vast landscape from heights that stretch so wide that your eyes can barely take it all in. The bottom of the crater, or the crater floor as it is sometimes referred to is actually the remains of a collapsed volcanic caldera, which was formed between 2 to 3 million years ago.

This very impressive Waterfall is one of the tallest in the area, spewing crystal clear glacier water 70m into its basin. The beautiful path leading to Materuni Waterfall is located 2500m above sea level. It traverses through valleys and hills covered by tropical rainforest, past coffee, banana and avocado “shambas”, the Kiswahili word for farms. The way to water falls there is a possibility to see different beautiful bird species like sun birds and Chameleon reptile.
On a clear day great views of Kibo and Moshi can be seen. The hike to the base of the Waterfall can be demanding and hiking boots are recommended. Upon reaching the bottom a picnic lunch will be served before returning to Materuni village, the starting point of the hike. Hiking boots and a pole are highly recommended. If a pole is not available the guide will construct one from tree branches found in the area.
On the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro lies the village of Materuni. It is one of many villages in Tanzania populated by Chagga tribe. Materuni village produces many perishable goods including yam, sugar, maize and beans. However, the main crop that is grown is coffee. In the village you will be able to learn about the process from which coffee is grown, to when it is finally poured, steaming hot into the cup. You will pick you own coffee, remove the cover and then with coffee that has been previously dried out, crush it into coffee granules. After experiencing the complete coffee production process you will be able to enjoy your very own, satisfying and rewarding cup of fresh coffee.
You will also learn how the Chagga tribe lives, such as their home set-up, the types of food they cook and eat and how they rear their animals.

Visit the Marangu falls go swimming and experience stunning landscapes. The waterfalls are situated on the Kilimanjaro National Park boarder, to the foot of the Kilimanjaro. About 40 minute drive from Moshi town, from which you have a very nice view on Mt. Kilimanjaro, located in the beautiful country side of Merangu surrounded by lush landscapes, you will find this hidden waterfall.
At the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Ndoro Waterfall is one of the most popular and largest waterfalls in the area. A one hour hike, descending through the stunning green landscapes of Chagga (the third largest tribe in Tanzania) land will bring you to this huge waterfall, here you will have the opportunity to stand underneath the waterfall, even jump off one and go swimming in the refreshing water and have a well-deserved break for lunch in the beautiful valley.
The word “Marangu” means a place with too many water streams. This is one of the most popular places in Tanzania.
Transportation will be provided by car from Arusha or Moshi Town to the Marangu waterfalls. The source of the water comes directly from the glacier on top of Kilimanjaro. Splendid, green areas where also grow the most fantastic trees and exotic plants.

You will need comfortable clothing, walking shoes, and a rain coat in case it rains on your way up. Check in at the gate and proceed with walking and hiking throughout the forest of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Mount Kilimanjaro is the top roof of Africa, reaching 5895 m. above sea level. It is a world heritage site and its outstanding features reach into three major volcanic centers:
Experience the landscape and different vegetation. Monkeys can be seen and for birders this is the nice place for identifying different species of birds. The forest consists of elephant, leopard, buffalo, bush buck, the endangered Abbott’s dicker, some small antelope, primates, and rodents and much more..!
Depending on your fitness level, we will arrive at Mandara Hut for picnic lunch (three to four hours walking). After taking lunch, proceed walking to Maundi crater and later hike down to Marangu gate where our van will be waiting for you (two hours walking down).
Drive back to Moshi/ Arusha and arrive in the evening.

“Chemka” means boiling or bubbling. This beautiful natural spring that originates from Kilimanjaro ground waters releases bubbles as it comes up into the natural pool surrounded by large fig trees. Here you can swim and snorkel in the transparent warm water (26 degrees), sunbathe or relax in hammocks in the shade.
Located approximately 2 hours’ drive from both Moshi and Arusha town. Its hidden by a beautiful green forest lie natural hot springs, ideal for taking a relaxing dip or simply to use as a backdrop for a tranquil picnic or bbq. You will be accompanied by a guide and can spend as little or as long time as you like, with the option to camp overnight in this idyllic spot. If lucky, you may be able to spot Black-faced monkeys hanging in the tree-tops above you.
Here you may find a diversity of colorful birds amongst an abundance of plant life and neighboring indigenous tribes. There is also an option to camp overnight here. One has also a chance of doing biking from Arusha to the spring then back to Arusha from June to December.
