THE CONTRACT
All reservations are made through licensed franchisees in Tanzania operating under the name Tanzania Wildhog Safaris Ltd. By booking a trip with us, you are considered to have agreed to these Booking Conditions (which constitute the entire agreement between you and us), and we will accept your booking on that basis. The services that will be provided are those listed on your booking confirmation invoice.
VALIDITY
The reservation is only valid after we send you the booking confirmation. Bookings are not valid until payment is received. Only after we send the booking confirmation is the reservation considered valid.
DEPOSIT REQUIREMENT
A deposit is required for your booking to be confirmed. Please keep in mind that different deposit amounts are required for different trips.
ACCEPTANCE OF BOOKING AND FINAL PAYMENTS
If we accept your booking, we will email you confirmation. We will have a contract between us as of the date we issue the confirmation. Final payment information can be found on your booking confirmation. The balance of the trip cost is due before the departure date. If this balance is not paid on or before the due date, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation.
PRICES & SURCHARGES
Our trip prices are subject to variable and seasonal pricing, which is common in the travel industry. This means that our trip prices may change at any time based on demand, market conditions, and availability. Different passengers on the same trip were most likely charged different prices. If you like the price you see, you should book at that time. If you receive a quote, the price will be locked in if you pay the required deposit before the quote expires. Any lower prices or discounts that become available after you have paid your deposit will not apply.
Full cancellation conditions apply if you wish to cancel your booking in order to take advantage of a lower price. Prices are based on current currency exchange rates plus exchange fees; please keep in mind that prices may differ depending on the currency in which the booking is made. We reserve the right to impose surcharges in the event of unfavorable changes in exchange rates, increases in airfares or other transportation costs, increases in local operator costs, taxes, or if required by government action. In such cases, we will be responsible for up to 2% of the trip price, and you will be responsible for the remainder.
If a surcharge results in an increase of more than 10% of the trip price, you may cancel the booking and receive a full refund within 14 days of being notified of the surcharge. Once paid in full, we will not surcharge any booking for travel within the validity of this brochure. The cost of your air inclusive trip includes Air Passenger Duty. Please keep in mind that all credit card purchases may be subject to a surcharge.
YOU’RE DETAILS
To confirm your travel arrangements, you must provide all requested details as well as the balance of the trip price. The necessary details vary depending on the trip; they include, but are not limited to, your full name as it appears on your passport, your date of birth, your nationality, your passport number, your passport issue and expiry date, and any pre-existing medical conditions that may affect your ability to complete your travel arrangements. On some of our more difficult trips, you must also complete and submit a Self-Assessment form. Failure to provide requested information may result in additional charges or a non-refundable trip cancellation.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
We are not medical professionals. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are physically fit enough to participate fully in the trip and to obtain proper and detailed medical advice on the most recent health requirements and recommendations for your destination. If you fail to do so and are either denied entry into a country or suffer personal injury as a result, we will have no liability to you for any loss or damage you suffer.
GROUP JOINING ADVENTURES
Unless the minimum group size specifically states otherwise, our trips are guaranteed to depart once they have one fully paid traveler. This means that we may occasionally have groups with few travelers. Many of our trips are designed to be combined with other departures to form a longer “combination” trip; this means that some of your group may have already been travelling together for several weeks when your trip begins. If you want to know how many people are booked on your trip or any combination trip it is a part of, please inquire before making your reservation.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
Travel insurance is strongly advised for all of our guests and should be purchased at the time of booking. Personal accident, death, medical expenses, and emergency repatriation must all be covered by your travel insurance, with a recommended minimum of US $200,000 for each category of coverage. We also strongly advise it to include coverage for cancellation, curtailment, personal liability, and loss of luggage and personal effects.
FLEXIBILITY
You recognize and appreciate that the nature of this type of travel necessitates considerable flexibility, and you should plan for alternatives. The itinerary provided for each trip is representative of the types of activities considered, but it is understood that the route, schedules, itineraries, amenities, and mode of transportation are subject to change without notice due to local circumstances or events.
CHANGE OF ITINERARY
While we make every effort to run all trips as described, we reserve the right to change the trip itinerary at any time. Please check our website before departing for the most recent itinerary updates.
Before departure: If we make a significant change, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible if time permits. A major change is defined as one that affects at least one day out of every five on the itinerary. When a major change occurs, you have the option of accepting the change, receiving a refund for the land portion of the trip only, or accepting an alternative tour offered.
After departure: We reserve the right to alter an itinerary due to local circumstances or events beyond our control. You will bear the additional costs of any necessary itinerary changes in such emergency situations. Please keep in mind that we are not responsible for any incidental expenses incurred as a result of the itinerary change, such as visas, vaccinations, or non-refundable flights.
AUTHORITY ON TOUR
A group leader/guide oversees our group trips. The group leader’s decision on all matters likely to affect the safety or well-being of any traveler or staff member participating in the trip is final. If you fail to comply with a group leader’s decision or interfere with the group’s well-being or mobility, the group leader may direct you to leave the trip immediately, with no right of refund. We may also choose not to carry you on any future trips. You must always follow the laws, customs, foreign exchange, and drug regulations of the countries you visit, and you also agree to follow our responsible travel guidelines.
ACCEPTANCE OF RISK
We acknowledge that the nature of the trip is adventurous, and that participation entails some personal risk. You will be visiting places where the political, cultural, and geographical characteristics present greater dangers and physical challenges than in our daily lives. We assess whether the itinerary should go ahead based on information from government foreign departments and reports from our own contacts. It is, however, your responsibility to become familiar with all relevant travel information and the nature of your itinerary. You acknowledge that your decision to travel is based on this information, and you accept that you are aware of the personal risks associated with such travel.
A few words on safety during your safari
Going on a safari is very thrilling and exciting, but just as with any other trip, it comes with potential safety issues.
Although you probably won’t drive yourself during your Serengeti safari, you should know that in game reserves and national parks with big game it is absolutely prohibited to get out of your car, unless accompanied by armed rangers or/and guides. Unfortunately, each year travellers ignore this rule, despite the serious consequences.
Usually, a guide in a special safari vehicle will pick you up from a small airstrip. Once you are in the lodge, pay attention to the briefing provided by your ranger or accommodation staff. The staff always knows what game is currently roaming in the vicinity of the lodge.
Many lodges in the Serengeti are unfenced; wildlife can freely enter the premises and will do so. Therefore, you are not allowed to walk unaccompanied around the lodge after sunset. Would you like to go to the main building, restaurant or bar? Just call the reception and they will send someone to escort you from your room.
